Tales from the elders
Of the early tribes of man
Spoke of a spirit haunting
These valley waters
A ghastly beast hungering for flesh

On offering to sate it
Tied to the crossing vessel
Satisfied it would retire to its den

Far beneath the surface of the lake
It traversed the depths
Slithering through time itself
As the world around it changed

The serpent became enraged
It vowed to send us back
To a darker age from which we won’t return
Distorted, Visage, Silent, Crying

In the age of technology and vanity
Tradition and culture are pushed aside

Seasons, changing
Old legends have been forgotten
Concrete, monoliths
Suffocate mother nature

Fires burning, never ending night
The heat will rise ash blankets the sky
Thunder rolls and lightning strikes

We’ve awakened the Leviathan
This valley will burn
His roar fills the air beneath the crimson sun

To purge this place of ignorance and sin
Inferno engulfing everything spread by the winds

Endless, darkness

Let There Be Nothing

It reminds me of *good* Blind Guardian, which is one of my favorite bands (up to 2002) , so that alone would be enough. However, it would sell the band short to describe them just as "a band that sounds like BG". The album has some genuinely brilliant moments and the last song on the album, the s/t one, is one of my favorite songs of the past years, absolutely fantastic. dungeonvic
