We awake from cryosleep to a signal of despair
Touching down on foreign soil to see what we find there
A ship lay in the distance abandoned long ago
Sent to explore its worn and battered hull
Ancient being laid to rest
Ruptured from within his chest
Fog covers cold steel floor hiding something just beneath
A closer look reveals pods as far as the eye can see
A parasite melts through the glass to infiltrate
Plant the seed and germinate
Comatose to wide awake
Eruption and escape
Perfect being without morality
Silent prowler driven by hostility
Endless hallways closing in
Is there any way to win?
There is nowhere we can run
Annihilation has begun
The crew exterminated one by one
A machine plays with the threads of our human lives
In the guise of a man he doomed us with his lies
Perverted protocol to preserve alien life
Mother turned her back on us
How will we survive?
Strobing lights and warning sounds
Self destruction counting down
Mandibles ooze viscous spit that falls upon the floor
Face to face and terrified I’m frozen to the core
Detach and drift out into the black expanse
Flash of white pulls me into a trance
Time ceases to elapse
Exhaustion and collapse
Perfect being without morality
Silent prowler driven by hostility
Endless corridors a maze
Alien stalks us in silence
There is nowhere we can run
Annihilation carries on
The crew exterminated all but one
Floating alone in the hollowness of space
Sweat clinging like a second skin
Rapid breaths have just begun to slow
Not alone, not again
Open the door to the arms of emptiness
Skewered, ejected into the star’s caress
One last report
The ship and crew are lost

Pair some epic power metal and heavy metal and you have yourself an amazing album. Produce an album like Abyss and you have an instant classic. I can't wait to hear what comes next from this talented group. Trevor Mills

It reminds me of *good* Blind Guardian, which is one of my favorite bands (up to 2002) , so that alone would be enough. However, it would sell the band short to describe them just as "a band that sounds like BG". The album has some genuinely brilliant moments and the last song on the album, the s/t one, is one of my favorite songs of the past years, absolutely fantastic. dungeonvic
